Whether your Wedding is next month or next year, it is never too soon or too late to get your hair Wedding ready.
If your hair is damaged, broken and dull this can't all be hidden and will show in your hairstyle. Shiny, healthy hair is what you want to be reflecting in your photos.
REGULAR TRIMS ARE A MUST
The first thing to do is to cut all your damaged ends off. People's eyes will automatically be drawn to your damaged ends and they need to be cut off to encourage healthy hair growth.
For really damaged hair we encourage you to get a trim every 6 weeks. This will keep those split ends under control and stop them splitting up the hair shaft and causing further damage. Even healthy hair will need a regular trim. 8 weeks is an average we suggest for cuts, for really healthy hair we would suggest 10-12 weeks.
GET THOSE HAIR MASKS ON
Let's treat your hair concerns.
Hair treatments/masks can do wonders for your hair. They can repair damage, help prevent future damage, control frizziness and add moisture and shine.
For damaged/broken hair we recommend Olaplex. Olaplex is a reconstructing treatment that repairs broken bonds in your hair from the inside out and helps prevent further damage. Olaplex can be added to your colour services and we strongly recommend you use Olaplex No.3 and No.0 at home.
If your hair is dry or frizzy then a moisture treatment is a must. There are some amazing in salon treatments available and home care treatments too.
Together with lightening services, heat is a major contributor to damaging hair. Heat from hairdryers, straighteners and curling tools can cause a lot of damage to your hair and even if you are using the best shampoos, conditioners and hair masks and getting regular trims, if you don't protect against heat you are still going to damage your hair.
Before you use any heated tools, make sure you use a heat protector. Using a heat protector will create a protective barrier on the hair shaft and protect the cuticles from being exposed to high levels of heat. Think of using heat protectors as you would sunscreen if your skin is being exposed to heat. Just like sunscreen, the barrier created by heat protectors also fights off free radical damage caused by UV rays and so also protecting your colour.
You can use heat protectors on damp and dry hair.
COLOURING & GLOSSING
Having colour on your hair can enhance your style. Strategically placed colour can show up beautifully on curls and updo's and make finer hair look fuller.
We are a huge fan of glossing services as they can add so much shine to your hair which will look gorgeous. If you don't colour your hair you can have a clear gloss. We suggest a glossing service the week of your wedding.
If you are colouring your hair then we encourage you to use Olaplex with your service to keep it healthy and prevent further damage.
USE PROFESSIONAL HOME CARE
There is no comparison between professional hair care and non professional hair care.
Although supermarket brands do contain many of the same ingredients found in salon products, they only contain small amounts and are watered down, hence the cheap price point. They typically contain chemicals which can strip your hair of its natural oils, dry it out and even strip your hair colour. They're also known for diluting products with fillers which leave behind a waxy build up.
Professional brands consist of vitamins, oils and minerals that are truly nourishing and hydrate your hair from within. They don't strip your colour they will, in-fact, protect your colour from fading and make it look its best with added softness and shine.
If you are going to all the trouble to get your hair in great condition, don't undo all your work by using cheaper brands.
We hope the above helps, if you would like any recommendations or advice on anything please don't hesitate to get in touch. X
